I have a small Ginkgo biloba (maidenhair tree) that is in a large pot on my patio. It has been fine for years now until I transfered it to my house from my friend’s. A few weeks ago, some of the leaves have been turning brown. Is this normal? Should I leave them or take the brown ones off?
My friend had it in his backyard where theres only some sun. I now have it in the front of my house where the sun is the strongest during the day. Could it be that the sun has burnt the leaves?
Other than those few leaves, the tree does not seem to be in any distress.

take the brown leaves off and water it occasionally,put in half sun half shade. that should work.

Question by gogreen: why is my Chinese Elm tree bonsai losing a lot of leaves?
I got this Chinese Elm tree at school and now leaves are turning yellow and falling. I have it by a window so it can get light, but the it doesn’t get a lot of light just like if it was in the shade. I also check the soil everyday to check if it’s dry and give it water if dry. Please help IDK what to do!!!!!! I have another bonsai and it’s on the same place where the other one is and it’s doing just fine.

well u keep them outside for some days …..and regularly mix its soil with some organic matters….see its result …….may be it can help u

I recently got a ficus bonsai and i’m wondering how i can get more leaves to grow. I really dont know too much about pruning, other than you cut things off. But there’s gotta be a way to trim her so that leaf formation is encouraged, right?

I would fertilizer, if you haven’t already. You can also check with a nurserey in your area to help out. There is a correct way & time of the year to prune. Good luck.
