Question by boonesbay: Planting recommendations?
I am a conifer collector and recently purchased one that I’m not as familiar with. It is a Sciadopitys verticillata (Japanese Umbrella Pine). Was curious about where to plant concerning protection from winter winds or sun scorch. It was a very expensive specimen and want to plant it in spot where it will thrive. Any advice would be appreciated

i sold these at pike wholesale nursery. unusual appearance, but i liked them. dirr ‘needs careful siting, prefers rich, moist, acid soils and sunny, open locations, late afternoon shade is best, protect from wind, light pine shade best’
