Question by KFC Mom: How do you “train” an Dwarf Amur Maple?
I purchased an Amur Maple “Acer Ginnala” and in reading up on it, it can be trained to grow into a tree rather than a shrub. I bout it thinking it was a tree, however there are numerous branches at the base. I need to know how to prune it so that it will grow more tree like than shrub/bush like

Just keep taking branches from the bottom. As the tree puts more growth on top, you can take away some of the branches on the bottom. I wouldnt remove any branches unless you have new growth on the top. As it grows you should be able to keep removing lower branches until you have a tree.
If it has more than one trunk, pick the largest, healthiest, straightest trunk and cut the others off.
