Question by bellatina: What kind of trees are low maintenance and good for zone 7?
I have recently bought land and I need some ideas on what kind of trees to plant. I would like something that gives some shade that we could tie our hammock up to or sit under with some iced tea in the summer. I have been on the Arbor Day Foundation site and really liked things like the Zelkova, Japanese Zelkova serrata, Maple, Trident, Hackberry Celtis occidentalis, and Buckeye,Yellow Aesculus flava (octandra)
Only you must take into consideration that I am totally ignorant when it comes to plants and how to care for them and also I need something that will be slightly forgiving to my allergies and wont attract too many bugs. I know that I am asking for a lot but I would appreciate the help.
